Lympho Scintigraphy

Lymphoscintigraphy is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the lymphatic system. It involves injecting a small amount of radioactive tracer near the area of interest, typically near a tumor or in the limbs. A gamma camera then tracks the movement of the tracer through the lymphatic vessels to identify lymph nodes, assess lymphatic drainage, or detect blockages or lymphedema. This test is commonly used in cancer staging, such as identifying sentinel lymph nodes in breast cancer or melanoma.
